Coach Scott Painter
Volleywood Beach Academy is proud to introduce Assistant Director & Recruiting Coordinator Coach Painter. Coach Painter is a native to St. Augustine who brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the sport. As a current player and coach, he has been involved with the sport for over 25 years. He began his volleyball career in middle school at the age of 11. During high school, he played indoor volleyball with the Wolf Pack Junior Olympic team as an outside hitter. After his Junior Olympic season, Coach Painter joined a Men’s Indoor Club Team traveling the state for the Open AAA division National Qualifier. Coach Painter decided to bring his volleyball passion to another level and started his professional indoor career in the Netherlands as a Right side hitter.
After his professional indoor career, Coach Painter returned home to St. Augustine and transitioned to the sport of beach volleyball where his talents exceeded his expectations. He traveled the Southern states playing in multiple pro-amateur beach tournaments against some of the best players in the world. Coach Painter has won multiple Open Division tournaments state wide and actively competes in beach volleyball competitions throughout the Southeast.
Coach Painter has multiple years of coaching experience at the middle school, high school, and club level. Coach Painter’s goal is to help athletes develop and improve their sports performance. He ensures his coaching philosophy is meaningful, fun, and exciting while impacting athletes on and off the court.
